Ralph Whitaker Posted June 6 Report Posted June 6 I can see I should have scrubbed out that scribble on the back of the package I pictured as it is going to lead to confusion. Take no notice of that, it is wrong anyway, by my new calculation each click of the adjuster lengthens or shortens the adjusting screw by 1.38 thousandths of an inch, so 10 thou on the adjusting screw is actually 7.25 clicks of the tool. But this is not adjustment at the valve end as has been pointed out, that depends on the rocker ratio. You must determine the amount of clicks necessary by the procedure outlined in my previous post. How od I calculate? 8/30 of the 24 tpi of the adjusting scwew x the ratio of the rocker levers, about 40/25 mm (valve side/adjuster side) - 60° is much better, this should be a 0.283 mm gap - 53° will be a 0.25 mm gap - all ON A TR 4 CYLINDER, others different Can anybody check and confirm, please I have a Clikadjust and for my pretty standard TR3a, 7 clicks = 14 thou for the inlets and 8 clicks = 16 thou for the exhausts. Those are the recommended clearances for my Newman PH1 camshaft. Rgds Ian Quote
Z320 Posted June 8 Report Posted June 8 My calculation is based on AI telling me 30 clicks are one full turn, it would be great somebody could confirm, please. Quote

Rgds Ian I take it you have the standard rockers, I was checking mine again yesterday and arrived at 5 clicks to give me 10thou, so if yours are standard it would seem that each click is 2thou. Ralph Hi Ralph, yes I have standard rockers that are nominally 1:1.5 but that takes no account of variables of exactly where the rocker bears on the top of the valve stem. Anyway assuming that the thread on the adjuster is still standard 1/24”, 8 clicks equate to 0.01667”. Rgds Ian Edited June 10 by Ian Vincent Quote
