Later tanks do when they fitted the tun dish in the bottom, earlier tanks didnt. Ally tanks do.

Yes the PRV return has a metal pipe back down to the swirl pot.

Thank you mines the early type so as Stuart says no pipe and that then saves me removing Tank to get the pipe out,Cheers.

Why would you wish to remove the return pipe? (Assuming your tank had one).

5s and early 6s didn't have them and without the return and dish/baffles a long, fast sweeping left hand curve can be accompanied by coughing and spluttering as the fuel pump sucks in air.

Some of the earl cars had the return from the PRV going back to the filter but the filter set up had very limited function as a swirl pot - partly because the flow to the pump is taken from the top of the filter assembly.
