TR6 steering lock 1976 how does it work

just interested how does it all work, engage dis-engage etc

anyone got any drgs pictures type of things

Is the position of the shaft important ???

just found a pic from bullfire, that's why my shaft wouldn't move down as much there's a big lump of metal for the steering lock there

it shows a groove but is there a one 180 degree to it ??
