Door Check Strap Guide Springs

How do i go about changing the door guide springs, Drivers side broken, door not staying open annoyingly,

I've ordered  2 from Rimmer

Looks like some damage to paint to get these pesky things out.  any tips please.

You could do with the door open as far as possible without damaging it against the wing so put loads of masking tape down the edge of the wing then open the door and undo the clevis or bolt holding the check strap and slide the strap in out of the way (You might want to remove the kick board and pull the strap right out) then you need to drill out the two rivets and remove the spring but the one nearest the inside of the car is part hidden so I have before now just ground out a little of the panel to facilitate access and then touched it in afterwards.Fitment is the reverse though you need good sized rivets to fit them with.

 Yes, the rivet on the outside looks like trouble stiil waiting for the guids to be deliverd, ill post some pictures when as when i've drilled them
