siminson Posted July 6 Report Posted July 6 Hi all, can anyone help with a problem I have re starting. I recently did some work replacing heater hoses inside the car and engine bay, all completed so put everything back together and tried to start the car. Ignition comes on fuel pump runs, when I turn key against the spring to start there is a clonk similar to stuck starter motor but I don’t think that is the problem, sometimes when I release the starter ( turn key back ) the engine starts ! So I thought faulty switch , replaced with new switch from Rimmers exactly the same problem. Could this be a writing problem I have checked the position of wires on starter and they look correct to me. Any thoughts? All was fine when I started the work no sticking starter. Many thanks, Nick Siminson. Quote
stuart Posted July 6 Report Posted July 6 Check battery voltage and connections for a start as presumably you had the battery out to facilitate the work? Stuart. Quote
