Changing Top ball joint and fulcrum bushes

Hi Team, 

I am about to change out my Top ball joint and replace the fulcrum poly bushes after 15 plus years  with a new set.   My question is can this be done without removing the shocks and spring coils, by taking a bit of compression on the lower suspension joint.

or is it easier just to strip out the spring etc for easier access.

If you are talking about the bottom wishbone bushes spring out.

If you are only doing the top ball joint and top wishbone bushes there is no need to remove anything else. Just jack it up a bit for access.

Jack under the spring pan for clarity works fine to remove top ball joint and bushes..

Thanks guys,   There dosent appear to be enough space between the end of the fulcrum and the body to get the upper A arms off to remove the bushes,  so I think I will need to remove the fulcrum , can you still get access to the rear fulcrum bolt /nuts with the spring in place, as I seem to remember it’s only the front  bolts that have captive nuts or am I wrong?

You are correct, but if you have a 3/8" socket set, it is just possible, with a couple of extensions, to get a socket on the inside nuts, passing them up behind the spring.
I did that when I was fitting (& adjusting) the adjustable fulcrums offered by Bastuk.

Thanks Bob that’s what I thought.   Think I will just remove the springs and make it easy on myself,   Done it before so just a bit more time

Yes I've done the same but gee it was a pain.
