Richardtr3a Posted August 5 Report Posted August 5 I was driving back from a visit to Uckfield ,Sussex last week and there was a sound of broken glass so I stopped and found that one of my spot lamps had fallen out and was smashed on the road. I cleared it up and went home feeling low. Good news is that I managed to find the same lamp on Ebay. So I am back to a matching pair. The replacement is NOS and has the small screw fixing which holds the glass lens in the right place. My old one had the screw missing and I used a spare that I had in the garage but it was the wrong thread and had fallen out. My temporary repair with mastic had also failed. The new spotlamp is aLucas LR 576 and is in unused condition. So I am very pleased. I fitted it and tried the new one to make sure that it works. There was no sign of life in either light. So I have booked a classic car electric repair man for tomorrow. He will be able to make my RHS indicator work and look at the horn hub, which I have taken out, for indicator cancellation. While he is here I need the phone charger plug to be made live and the extra electric cooling fan for use in London / M25 / M23 traffic jams. I have taken out the drivers seat so there is room to work on the horn hub and I remember , when I was in the hub about five years ago , that the grub screws can fall when fitting the hub and are very small and hard to find. So I am fitting a plain white dust sheet to the carpet to make the job easier. There may also be some problems with my new Dynamo output. So it will be interesting to see what he finds tomorrow morning. Any advice Thanks Richard Quote

Richardtr3a Posted August 6 Author Report Posted August 6 The electrician arrived early and made all the necessary repairs except for the extra cooling fan. It was solid and did not move. The only answer was to remove the front bumper, grill, badge bar, spotlights etc. to get access. This fan is not used so I have given up and I am very pleased to have everything else working as normal. This is the first time the RHS indicators have worked for a long time. So it was very useful to have a skilled man arrive and no need to get the TR out. Richard Quote
