roy53 Posted August 29 Report Posted August 29 Yes Rob i did try the adjustments in the gauge which i thought had helped somewhat but during this hot spell it was worrying to see the gauge so high. The sender i had in was the white one cts6078 fuel parts. I just ordered what i thought was the red one but a white delivered so i guess i could try and reorder the other two colours and try again. The data i have says a CTS 6078(white) is equivalent to GTR111 / Intermotor 52770 / Smiths TT3801. used on Jags and Range Rovers CTS6077 (black) is the same as GTR101 / Intemotor 52760 / TT3803 there doesn't seem to be an equivalent CTS type for the red GTR104 /intermotor 52710 / TT3802 Edited August 29 by RobH Quote

But for closure (I hope), I think that my problem is solved, having now replaced the voltage stabilser with one from TR Bitz and a sender from Revington TRs. I say solved although the temperature seems to settle on the high side, around 210 deg. F. after 10 minutes running in the garage (not yet taken it for a run). I get the impression that this system is not particularly accurate, and depends on the matching of the individual components. I think that as long as you work out what your 'normal' is then it's still useable to show if something is not right. Thanks all for your inputs. Dave. Probably why more modern cars just have Cold--------------normal-------------hot Ralph Quote

Hi Dave, my 5 has always operated just slightly above the halfway no matter what. Has done so for last 20 years without issue. As you say I have taken that as normal for my engine. Paul Quote
