MasterDevils Posted Saturday at 10:56 AM Report Posted Saturday at 10:56 AM The O/Side 2-way 3/8 brake connector (part number 59258) on my Lockheed weeps due to poor threads and I'd like a replacement, however it's proving more difficult to locate than I thought as it's no longer available. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction to obtain this, as none of the main carriers have this item. Many thanks! Quote
sonsoldcar Posted Saturday at 11:28 AM Report Posted Saturday at 11:28 AM It looks similar to classic mini front pipe union.Steve.. Quote

BlueTR3A-5EKT Posted Saturday at 06:39 PM Report Posted Saturday at 06:39 PM (edited) It is NOT Mini as they use unified threads and TR Lockheed is BSF threads You could use the Mini item but you would have to change the inserting male flare nuts to suit the thread change. Lockheed 3/8” x 20 BSF Mini and Girling of later TR’s. 3/8” x 24 UNF Mix ‘em up, ruin the brass connector threads I will dig in my spares box tomorrow as I might have one. Will PM you if I find one. PS. You sure it is poor threads as the seal is between the pipe flare and the connector itself. The thread just hold it in. I’d be considering renewing the pipe and it’s flared ends. MasterDevils Posted Sunday at 09:31 AM Author Report Posted Sunday at 09:31 AM Thanks for this. I had looked at the mini replacement, however had a question mark over thread size (now confirmed by Peter). I didn't want to have to change all the connectors, as it involves complete removal of all the pipes and despite having a Sykes & Pickavant vice mounted flaring tool, which is brilliant, it's lots of work, however maybe my only option. Sadly, it's the threads of the original unit which are damaged, and despite trying to recut, still leaks. I still continue my search for an original replacement. Quote
BlueTR3A-5EKT Posted Sunday at 11:17 AM Report Posted Sunday at 11:17 AM (edited) My brake banjo collection. I am not sure I I have the one you are seeking. See photos comparing BSF with UNF. Threaded 3/8” x 20 BSF both sides and both with a reverse flare for pipe end sealing. One side outlet is flat, the other angled away at probably 10° or 20°. . The stud is there to support it for photographing. As far as I recall there are 3 of these banjo connectors on a Lockheed TR2-3 The one at the front drivers side and one on each side at the rear on the wheel cylinders. Could you do a swap about to improve things by fitting a rear to the front and perhaps fitting a different threaded one at the rear. ? Only one axle brake pipe end fitting would need changing then plus the use of a UNF bleed nipple. Edited Sunday at 11:29 AM by BlueTR3A-5EKT Quote
Ralph Whitaker Posted Monday at 07:38 AM Report Posted Monday at 07:38 AM (edited) I have 4 of the ones shown below, BSF threads, on 2 spare backplates for my 1948 Hillman, they look the same as Peters above. Ralph Edited Monday at 08:05 AM by Ralph Whitaker Quote
MasterDevils Posted 10 hours ago Author Report Posted 10 hours ago Thanks for this Ralph, interesting to know that they're in use on yours too. Hopefully my quest is at an end as Peter is very kindly sending me his, so I should be sorted soon! Thanks to all for assisting me. Quote
