  1. I used a toothbrush to get into all of the awkward parts:
  2. I was going to seam seal the edges inside the wheel arch and engine bay:
  3. Thanks Rob. I gave up on the spot welder. I think I need a new one. Drilled, clamped and welded with some seams inside for good measure, still a bit more to go now but unbelievably it all fits
  4. If anyone has used these bastuck panels, is the primer weld through? thanks
  5. Lining up:
  6. Back on it
  7. Tempted to go that way, get 10% discount as a club member and previous customer.
  8. I had my Spitfire starter reconditioned with Powerlite - Superb and lightening fast turnaround
  9. Any recommendations for a starter motor? My current one is fine which is a standard starter. Considering a hi-torque starter, which make and would you go down that route?
  10. Panel offered up, etch primed ready to spot weld in place:
  11. A few little jobs from last night. Hoping to get the panel welded in over the weekend. A few repairs completed and prep for paint which is a long way off.
  12. Been there with my bonnet, always go back to bare metal if you can. I would also make sure you have left enough time for it all to dry before sanding and applying more coats.
  13. What about a lighter Triumph? GT6 or Spitfire, a huge difference in terms of maintenance and weight.
  14. A few more pics, just added some primer and fettled with the repair panel. If I have time later I’ll cut the old piece out. Still a bit of finishing to do but wanted to check with a coat of primer.
  15. I also have a brand new bonnet assembly on my Spitfire otherwise this would have been perfect.
