Headlights switch

Hi all, might be a silly question but my TR4a headlight switch/stalk hasn’t been working properly so I purchased a replacement but the switching seems to be different. 
 

my existing stalk is off, then one click down for sidelights (on wings) and another click down for headlights & then pull for main beam which doesn’t stay on unless you hold it towards you.

the new stalk from Moss clicks down once and then you can push down again but it’s spring loaded and returns….

How does everyone else lights work please as I’m wondering if I have the wrong part or my lights are wired wrongly….?

sounds as if you have the wrong switch it should work as your old one does,check the part number of the one you received against the website number and contact moss

Your description of the existing switch is correct.   NOTE - when you pull the lever towards you this is the headlight flasher - not main beam as such.  I wouldn't hold it in place for too long.

Moss are out of stock at present.  Get your money back and buy from TRShop or TRGB
