      Thanks for your input.  I printed out the wiring schematic you provided a path to.  I already have one but since the car is garaged remotely it's good to have a copy at the garage as well as in my home. 
      Not to be a knit-picker (much)  but I notice the drawing contains the fuel, temp, amp, and oil gauges, that only need wires to illuminate the gauge faces but the drawing fails to include the MPH and Tachometer guages that also need wires to illuminate their faces.  A pretty glaring omission in my estimation.  Anyway, I am beyond that stage so I am not impacted.  Just saying. 
      I'm going to the garage this afternoon to try to make some progress on the column wires dilemma.  Will get back to you later.

      Mick,
      Some time ago in a discussion on mid rise lifts which I cannot find now you mentioned the size of box section you use to put across your Clifton lift to supprt the TR4. I'm about to go down this route and knowing the size would be really useful.
